Application Introduction for English Program, 2014

Established in 1958, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TUTCM) is one of the earliest universities of TCM in China. The University has a distinguished teaching faculty and staff of more than 3,600. There are 16 colleges and institutions, including College of TCM, College of Chinese Materia Medica, College of Acupuncture & Moxibustion andTuina, College of Nursing, College of TCM Engineering, International Education College, TCM Institute and etc., covering from undergraduates, masters, doctoral programs and post-doctoral fellowships. At present time, there are over 14,000 students enrolled in various programs in the University.

TUTCM is the Educational Aid Center for Africa and Asia authorized by Ministry of Education (MOE), TCM International Cooperation Center by State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM) and National Center for International Research authorized by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). International students from all over the world are enrolled to work on their bachelor, master, doctoral degrees, short-term study or Chinese language. Each year there are over 2,000 students from 60 countries/areas studying in the university. It has established cooperation with universities, research and medical institutions from more than 50 countries and enjoys a high reputation.

TUTCM owns six affiliated hospitals, 30 teaching hospitals and one affiliated pharmaceutical factory. The First Teaching Hospital with 2,000 beds is the largest TCM Affiliated Hospital in the country. It has been approved by the state as the largest Acupuncture & Moxibustion center in China, National Clinical Research Center of Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Provincial Demonstration Hospital of TCM. The Second Teaching Hospital has a Research Center of TCM Rare Diseases, with treatment and research on Gynecology and Encephalopathy. All of the affiliated and teaching hospitals provide the students with excellent clinical and research facilities.

D.For Master’s Applicants in Acupuncture & Moxibustion andTuina: Bachelor in Medicine or related subjects

For Master’s Applicants in Chinese Materia Medica, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Pharmacy: Bachelor in CMM, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Preparation, Crude Drug, Pharmacology or other related majors

For Doctoral Applicants in Acupuncture & Moxibustion andTuina: Master in Medicine or related subjects

For Doctoral Applicants in Chinese Materia Medica: Master in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Preparation, Crude Drug, Pharmacology or other related majors

E.No more than 35 years old for master’s applicants and no more than 40 for doctoral applicants.

V. Contents of Scholarship:

A.Exempt from application fee, tuition;

B.Living allowance;

C.Accommodation on campus;

D.One-off settlement subsidy after registration;

E.Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China;

F.Fee forFirstResident Permit.

VI. Expenses excluded in the Scholarship range above should be self-supported.Expenses including but not limited to international tickets, transportation fares overseas or in China, physical examination fee, verification in China, item redo and etc.will be responsible by the students.This scholarship is used for studying in TUTCM ONLY and no program transferring permitted after admission. h.Foreigner Physical Examination Form(Please fill in the form using English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Applicants should have the physical exam later than Mar. 20, 2014;submit the copy of it before Mar. 31, 2014and bring ALL the attachments when coming to China)
