The scale and level of international education in TUTCM is leading among TCM universities. At present, there are over 2,000 foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao,Taiwanand overseas Chinese.

TUTCM pays great attention to openness and has actively cooperated with more than 80 universities, colleges, hospitals and institutions from over 50 countries and regions on education, scientific and clinical research, including theU.S.,U.K.,Italy, Swiss, Czech,Russia,Japan,Korea,Vietnam,Malaysiaand etc. Over 20 sessions of One-year Acupuncture & Moxibustion Program for English Speakers, World Education Congress of Chinese Medicine and other 20 TCM international conventions were held in the university.

It is Educational Aid Center for Africa and Asia authorized by MOE, China-ASEAN Educational Training Center by Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), TCM International Cooperation Center by State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM), First Batch Special Construction Institution of TCM International Education, and National Center for International Research authorized by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).

TUTCM has successfully held Advanced Training Programs of Medicinal Plants for Developing Countries sponsored by MOE, Advanced Training Program of Acupuncture & Moxibustion for African Medical Practitioners sponsored by MOE, Advanced Seminars on TCM Management and Development for Developing Countries” sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, Advanced Seminar on TCM Education for Asian Region sponsored by MFA and MOE. As one of the Chinese universities of MOE 20+20 plan, Sino-Ghana Advanced Seminar on Traditional Medicine was held, and research and cooperations were conducted in various fields.
