The 4th Advanced Training Program on Acupuncture and Moxibustion for African Medical Practitioners
I. Program Introduction
The 4th Advanced Training Program on Acupuncture and Moxibustion for African Medical Practitioners aims at training African medical practitioners with keen interest in traditional medicine especially in Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion, or with elementary mastery of relevant basic theories and knowledge, grasp of operating skills of acupuncture, ability to treat some common diseases by using acupuncture. The participants are expected to conduct acupuncture clinical treatment and research, and to promote the generalization of traditional Chinese medicine in Africa, therefore, to serve more African people.
II. Training Contents
1. Elementary mastery of knowledge and method for theories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and TCM diagnostics;
2. Elementary mastery of acupuncture & moxibustion theories, frequently used acupoints, common ways of manipulation techniques, acupoints and auxiliary acupoints selection, and practice of acupuncture skills;
3. Elementary mastery of the methods, acupuncture treatment and prevention of common clinical diseases;
4. Acquaintance of modern study on acupuncture & moxibustion, methodology and progress.
5. Learn more about the application of traditional medicine in Chinese health system.
The training will be in the pattern of theoretical study, theme lectures, discussion , technical operations, observation and etc.

Date: from Oct. 14, 2014 to Nov. 2, 2014 (only for training, round trip time excluded)
Place: Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin,
China

V. Candidate Qualification
1. Physicians in public hospitals or affiliated hospitals of a university;
2. Bachelor’s degree or above in Medicine or related field, with medical knowledge and clinical experience, core teachers, practitioners, researchers or leading scholars in university, hospital or related departments/institutions;
3. Administrators in health related departments in the government;
4. Senior health care doctors in the government or related departments;
5. Being healthy and not exceeding 45 year-old.

项目简章
一、项目简介
第四期“非洲国家西医师针灸高级研修班”以培养对传统医药尤其对中医针灸具有浓厚兴趣或已经初步掌握相关基本理论和知识，具有一定的针灸操作技能和应用针灸疗法防治常见疾病的能力，愿意了解和能够在针灸临床和研究方面从事相应工作的非洲国家医疗人员为目标，同时促进中国传统医药在非洲的发展与传播，为更多的非洲人民的健康服务。
二、培训内容
1. 初步掌握中医基础理论、中医诊断学知识和方法；
2. 初步掌握针灸学基本理论、常用重点腧穴、常用针法和灸法、针灸的配穴方法及选穴规律等基础知识及针灸基本技能训练；
3. 初步掌握临床常见病的针灸治疗方法，并能够运用针灸疗法对临床常见疾病进行预防和治疗；
4. 了解针灸的现代研究的基本思路和进展概况。
5. 了解传统医药在中国医疗卫生体系中具体运用情况。
培训将以理论学习、专题讲座、研究讨论和技能操作以及观摩体验等形式结合的方式进行。

时间：2014年10月14日至2014年11月2日（仅培训时间，不含往返时间）
地点：中国·天津，天津中医药大学
四、工作及授课语言：英语
五、申报资格
1. 国立医院或大学附属医院医师
2. 具有医学相关专业学士及以上学历，具有医学基础知识和临床经验，在大学、医院等相关医学部门从事教学、临床或科研的临床技术骨干或学科带头人
3. 政府卫生管理部门官员
4. 政府部门高级保健医师
5. 身体健康，年龄不超过45岁
